A Wound to Humanity

This isn't a video game, this is real life.

Unattached, we do not feel their wounds, or hear their cries, or see the damage that has been done.

Unattached and far away - the screen is like a video game, shielding our minds from the reality of the situation.

Somewhere a man in uniform is following orders,

mindlessly, he pushes a button, and the bomb is dropped on a civilian village.

"For the war on terror", he tells himself. Not realizing the terrorist is really himself.

Somewhere a single man is living in a mansion big enough for 50 + 3,

while a single mom is kicked out on the streets because she can't pay the bills.

Day after day the world watches as people suffer under occupation, or in the streets with out a place to rest their head.

"It's not my wound," the man said "It's a wound to humanity".
